Crest 3D Whitestrips new names (2025): old vs new for trade buyers

P&G refreshed the Crest 3D Whitestrips lineup with new box names in 2025. If you buy or sell this line, the name printed on the box is no longer a reliable single identifier. The same product line is currently shipping under at least two different names, depending on when a given retailer or region updated its listing. We went through crest.com, Oral-B's site, and current listings at Amazon, Walmart, Target, and Costco Business Delivery to confirm what actually changed. Below is the mapping we could verify, plus a separate list of names we could not confirm. We are not guessing on either.

This matters to us directly: our best-tracked SKU, sold under the old name Professional Effects, carries 592 verified buyer reviews at 4.9/5 aggregated across five marketplaces where we sell under our own name. P&G now lists that product as Professional White, with the same 40 strips and 20 treatments per box. P&G has not published a statement on whether anything inside the box changed, so we describe it as the successor, not as identical.

Old name to new name: what we could verify

Old name New name Strip count / treatments Confidence Source
Professional Effects Professional White 40 strips / 20 treatments (unchanged) High 1, 2
Gentle Routine Sensitive & Gentle Old: 28 strips / 14 treatments. New: 36 strips / 18 treatments High 3, 4
Supreme Bright Age Renew 42 strips / 21 treatments (unchanged) Medium 5, 6, 7
Classic White + Vivid (merged) Classic Vivid 20 strips / 10 treatments, all three Medium 8, 9, 10
Glamorous White No rename confirmed 28 strips / 14 treatments High 11
1 Hour Express No rename 20 strips / 10 treatments High 12

Confidence is high on the first two rows: name, spec and retailer listings all line up. It is medium on Age Renew and Classic Vivid. Strip counts match exactly and one retailer URL slug still carries the old name, but no manufacturer statement confirms either change. Some blogs claim Glamorous White became "Advanced White"; we found that name nowhere on crest.com or a major retailer, so treat it as unconfirmed.

Old names we could not map

We found no confirmed current equivalent for these. If you hold stock under one of these names, specify it by name and count, not by an assumed successor.

  • Radiant Express (LED kit, 28 strips / 14 treatments). It may have folded into Professional White + Whitening Light, but that kit's count (38 strips / 19 treatments) does not match.
  • Professional Effects Plus / Advanced. Costco Business Delivery still sells a box under this exact old name (see below).
  • Supreme (plain, 84-strip bundle, distinct from Supreme Bright).
  • Brilniance. The only current Brilliance we found is a toothpaste line, not a strip.
  • Vivid Plus (24 strips / 12 treatments).
  • Professional White + Whitening Light and Sensitive & Gentle + Whitening Light are current names. The predecessor LED kit for each is unconfirmed.

Why the channel shows mixed old and new packaging right now

A global rename does not land on every shelf on the same day. Costco Business Delivery is currently selling a box titled "Crest 3D Whitestrips, 40 Professional Effects Advanced + BONUS 20 Monthly Express", the old name, live as of September 2026. Crest's own Canadian site still lists a product simply as "Gentle Routine," the pre-refresh name. Even Amazon shows the overlap: a listing whose product URL still carries the old slug "Glamorous" now titles the item "2 Week Smile Transformation," with no "Glamorous White" in sight.

That is normal. Retailers sell through existing box inventory before ordering new print runs, and markets update on different timelines. A buyer pulling stock from Hong Kong retail channels should expect both generations in circulation for a while yet.

How to read the box to identify the generation

Three things on the box face tell you what you are holding: the product name as printed, the strip or treatment count, and the date code. Name alone is not enough. A rename sometimes came with a changed count (Gentle Routine's 14 treatments became Sensitive & Gentle's 18). Match name and count against the table above, and when in doubt, photograph the box face and date code before you commit to a PO.

Old packaging is not fake or expired by default

An old-name box is not automatically counterfeit or out of date. It is stock that was printed, filled and shipped before the new box art went to press. Judge it by its date code, not by which name is on the front.

Crest's own guidance points buyers to the best-if-used-by date printed on the box [16]. Crest also says strips past that date remain safe but lose whitening efficacy, and does not recommend using them [17]. Pull the date code, not the box name, when deciding whether stock is sellable.

What to put on your PO

Specify three things, not one: the product name (say both if you are unsure which generation you want), the strip or treatment count, and ideally a reference photo of the box face. If sourcing from us, we can confirm which generation is currently in stock and supply the purchase invoice for verification.

Titling marketplace listings during the changeover

Buyers searching your listing may still be typing the old name. List both names in the title and keywords, such as "Professional Effects / Professional White", until the new name displaces the old one in search behavior. That is effectively what Amazon's own listings are doing right now: several carry old-name product URLs alongside new-name titles, the same dual-naming approach we would recommend during a transition like this.

Depending on the batch, our stock of this line may be either generation. We tell you which before you order, as genuine Hong Kong retail-channel stock with purchase invoices available for buyer verification. Browse the current lineup in teeth whitestrips.
